Turn landscape footage into vertical Shorts.
VertiCut is an iPhone app that cuts a 9:16 vertical video out of footage shot in landscape (16:9), following your subject automatically as it crops. Where the automatic tracking misses, you can fix it by hand. Everything is processed on your iPhone; your footage never leaves the device.
| Free | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Video length | Up to 1 min | Unlimited |
| Output ratio | 9:16 | 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 |

Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
iPhone with iOS 17 or later. iPad is not supported.
On the home screen, open “About Pro” and tap “Pro & Restore Purchase”. You need to be signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.
If the video is in iCloud Photos and not yet on your iPhone, iOS downloads it when you choose it, which can take time on a slow connection. You can cancel and choose another video instead.
Fix it in the editor: move the timeline to where it went wrong, tap “Add a ◆ here”, and drag the frame to the right place. To follow someone else, tap their face.
VertiCut is made for footage shot in landscape. A portrait video is already tall, so there is little left to cut out of it.
No. Importing, face detection, tracking and export all happen on your iPhone. See the Privacy Policy.
Every screen that shows an error has a “Copy details” button. It copies what we need to find the cause (device model, iOS and app version, and the last few steps with the error codes) to the clipboard. File names and video content are not included.
Paste it into an email to the address below. A sentence about what happened helps a lot.
